What we’re about
T.A.F.U. (Paris) is a Free Job Seekers Group for white collar job seekers located in Paris, and within the surrounding area (Ile-de-France).
T.A.F.U. is a place to share and leverage information, resources, and contacts to support each other through the difficult job seeker journey.
CONCEPTS
There are 2 main concepts:
-> Associating the power of LinkedIn, the largest and most powerful professional network online-management-tool, with the unparalleled value of real life meetings giving the unique opportunity to talk to and meet with "real human beings".
-> Gathering job seekers, often suffering alone along a hard and long journey, and people who are currently employed, but willing to take actions to help and make a difference, as roles could be inverted in the future!
This is the best way we all together can act "To Avoid Future Unemployment" (T.A.F.U.)!
OBJECTIVES
T.A.F.U. aims at 3 key objectives to help job seekers:
-> Getting and providing support: advice, contacts, introductions, insights…
-> Uncovering hidden opportunities (+80% are actually not publicly visible)
-> Belonging to a group sharing the same objectives, and for job seekers, the very same pains, and getting momentum from it.
TECHNOLOGIES
T.A.F.U. draws on 2 leading social media networks that are extremely complementary:
-> "LinkedIn" providing the largest up-to-date contact database, associated with their "Group" technologies enabling both "Discussions Threads" per topic, and "Job Posting" in a specific section (T.A.F.U. on LinkedIn: http://linkd.in/YY2BhS).
-> "Meetup" providing the most effective way to set-up live meetings, while offering sharp topic-related members profiling and files sharing capabilities.
