Let's celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) 2021! This time all talks will be on the topic of how to get an accessibility mindset at your workplace!

The broadcast will start at 18:30 CEST. Each talk will be around 10 minutes and there will be breaks between them where you can chat with the speaker. The Meetup will end at around 20:30 CEST.
- Inclusive language at work -
Åsa Gustafsson - Diversity and inclusion expert, Futurista
"It doesn’t show you have Autism!"
"Well, thank you, it doesn’t show that you are normal either."
Inclusive language is vital for including and empower people with disability at work. The cost of microaggressions and ableist language does not only lead to discrimination, but also the risk of missing out on competence. In this talk you will get the basic of what inclusive language are and how it affects our prejudice and make us enlarge people.
- From nobody cares to natively curious -
Ilias Bennani - Senior accessibility advisor, Bennani Group AB
Ilias will talk about how to shift the culture of a whole workplace to a place where colleagues begin to compete to design and build the most accessible services. He will also talk about how you can, with great intentions, kill all engagement around digital accessibility.
- Sticky a11y wins -
Hampus Sethfors - accessibility nerd, Axess Lab
With a mix of muffins, babies and fire Hampus gives you hands-on tips on things you can do to make accessibility stick like super glue where you work.
- From a11y awareness to knowledge and ability -
Åsa Holmberg - government geek and digital accessibility strategist
How do we help people grow both their willingness and ability to include the accessibility perspective? In this talk, Åsa will share her experiences from an organisation's transformation journey.
- Accessibility as a quiz -
Martin Lexelius - frontend dev at Knowit
In the format of a funny and tricky quiz, Knowit Experience has increased the internal skills within the accessibility area. Martin Lexelius will speak about the experience of letting all of the staff test their own knowledge.
The quiz will be shared as open source at the end of the presentation.
Accessibility is not the responsibility of just a few enthusiasts.
- I have to tell you -
Marika Jonsson - Doctoral student at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology
Marika will talk about how digital accessibility can improve diversity at work. Today employees are almost always forced to say if they have a disability to be able to work or even apply for a job. But does it really have to be that way?
End at around 20:30
We will caption our broadcast and do our best to accommodate! We are aware that accessibility issues are diverse and there might be a problem that we are not aware of. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to us.
