t12t meetup - Futurice

It's time for a new evening meetup in Stockholm!

We are hosted by Futurice, and the event will take place in person at their office at Torsgatan in central Stockholm.

Schedule:
You can arrive at 18:00. Talks will start at around 18:30. The last talk will end around 20:00. You are welcome to stay and mingle until 20:30.

Making interactions more accessible with focus management
Emma Dawson, software developer at Futurice
Managing focus can allow us to provide better feedback to keyboard and screen reader users when things are added to and removed from webpages. Using several examples based on accessibility audit findings, Emma will talk about how to use focus management to improve accessibility.

Disability Inclusive AI
Kave Noori, AI Policy Officer at EDF
Kave Noori will discuss EDF's "Inclusive AI" project. The project aims to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities in the development of AI technologies. It also aims to expand the knowledge of the European disability rights movement. The project is based on three pillars: advocacy at the European level, capacity building, and awareness-raising activities.

Digging into overlays
What are overlays? Why are they controversial?
We'll discuss this together tonight!

Food:
We will be serving food and drinks. Food will be vegan/vegetarian. If you have any preferences when it comes to food or drinks let us know!
A private message to Ida Franceen is preferred. But if it feels complicated just add a comment on this meetup.

Accessibility:
There is a gate before the main entrance door, which is to the left. Then there are elevators going to the top floor where the meetup takes place. All speakers will use a microphone. All speakers are asked to describe their presentations.
We are aware that accessibility issues are diverse and there might be a problem that we are not aware of. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to us.

It's ok to take photos of our speakers and the things we and they present on stage. But please ask before taking photos of other attendees.
