What we’re about
Taalhuis Amsterdam is a house for languages, located in the heart of Amsterdam, where you can learn and improve your Dutch and Mediterranean languages. Because we believe that language and culture go hand-in-hand, we organize events outside the classroom, like language exchanges, movie nights and conversation walks.
Our events are open to everyone interested in learning a new language or refining their language skills.

Would you like to learn Dutch? Taalhuis Amsterdam offers courses at different levels and with various intensities, regular courses (once a week) and intensive courses (twice a week). We also offer in-company training and private lessons, but due to high demand there’s waiting list for following private lessons.
Our teachers are all native speakers and speak Dutch in class from lesson one (and so will you)! After completing a level (book) you can continue with a deepening course in which you’ll revisit important grammar topics. You can also opt for a conversation course to work on your speaking skills.

“Prego, entrate!” and come learn Italian at Taalhuis Amsterdam! Our Italian courses are taught in small groups, allowing you to improve your language skills quickly. We offer Italian lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced, from A1 to C2.
In class, both the teacher and the students speak Italian as much as possible to develop your speaking skills – obviously paying attention to correct grammar and vocabulary. At Taalhuis, you will be taught by experienced teachers whose mother tongue is Italian.

Speak a new language so that the world will be a new world. – Rumi
Farsi (also known as Persian) is the official language of Iran, Afghanistan (Dari) and Tajikistan (Tajik). This ancient Indo-European language has a long tradition of literature and poetry – think of poets like the famous Rumi!
But before we start talking about that, in our Farsi courses we cover common conversation topics and focus on everyday communication. We use the book Persian in Use, which covers reading and writing. Once you master the alphabet, you will learn the spoken language as well as the more formal forms.
