A free hands-on Tableau training.
Donations of $10 or more are appreciated!
In this 90-minute session, we will use the Summit Stores retail dataset to build a one-page business performance dashboard that tells a clear story about sales, profit, targets, product categories, and regional performance.
This is a practical Tableau project designed to help you move beyond basic charts and learn how to build a dashboard that communicates business insight clearly.
What You Will Build
During the training, you will create a complete Tableau dashboard that includes:

  • KPI cards for Total Sales, Total Profit, Profit Margin, and Top Sales Category
  • A Sales by Product Category bar chart
  • A Monthly Sales vs Target Sales trend chart
  • An interactive Region filter
  • A written Business Takeaway section

The final dashboard will help answer a real business performance story:
Is Summit Stores profitable, on track against sales targets, and which product categories are driving or weakening performance?
What You Will Learn
You will learn how to:

  • Connect to a clean retail dataset
  • Build executive-style KPI cards
  • Create a product category sales chart
  • Build a monthly actual sales vs target sales trend
  • Add filters for interactive analysis
  • Format a dashboard for clarity and readability
  • Write business takeaway comments that explain the insights
  • Organize a dashboard so it tells a clear business story

Who Should Attend
This training is ideal for:

  • Excel users moving into analytics
  • Tableau beginners
  • Career changers
  • Job seekers building a data portfolio
  • Analysts who want to improve dashboard storytelling
  • Anyone who wants to learn how to turn data into business insight

No advanced Tableau experience is required. Basic familiarity with Tableau is helpful, but the project will be taught step by step.
Why Attend?
Many dashboards show numbers. Strong dashboards explain what the numbers mean.
By the end of this training, you will have a portfolio-ready Tableau project that you can use as a learning example, LinkedIn post, or interview discussion piece.
