About us
Hey there,
If you like to play board, card and dice games, to discover new games (there are so many!) or occasionally play old favourites, then this group is for you! If you think tabletop games are something just for kids, or something stuck in the past, let us show you some of the great modern physical games that exist and are enjoyed by millions of people of all ages. <br>
We meet (almost) every Wednesday evening at the Pepper Saint Ontiod pub, which is on the Isle Of Dogs, very close to South Quay and Crossharbour DLR stations, and about 10 minutes walk from the Canary Wharf Jubilee line station, and (almost) every Monday evenings at The George, which is right by Crossharbour station.
You can also join our Facebook group, for banter, gossip, games news and more.

Board, card & dice games night at my place or The George (depending on numbers)
Private address, Manchester Road, London, GBHi everyone!
If you like to play modern tabletop (board, card, dice, tile and dexterity) games, and you enjoy meeting new people, then join us in the evenings from around 7pm until the venue closes.
Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't, as regular members will have some of theirs. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already.
You work late? No worries - you can join us any time during the evening, so if you can't arrive at 7pm, don't worry, just let us know your ETA. Everyone is free to come and go when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave. If there are lots of us, we may split into groups to play different games.
Please write what time you expect to arrive in your RSVP and/or the event comments, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long.
People who usually attend are a relaxed and friendly bunch, made up of both UK natives and foreigners, who may be locals or live further away, who are happy to welcome newbies and regulars.
This event will either take place at the host's home (which can cater for up to six players and where there is a large collection of games and accessories to play with) who lives at the top of Manchester Road, or if there are more than six players, or if anyone coming would prefer to meet in public, then at The George (which has many tables, but can be noisier, not as well lit, has a set closing time which might interrupt gameplay, and is more expensive than the supermarket). If you want to come but are not comfortable playing in a private residence, please let us know ASAP.
Events in this group are free to attend, but it is respectful to the public venues which we may hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do. If the event is at a private home, you can bring your own choice of drinks and/or snacks.
If you would like to contribute towards the costs of running of this group, feel free to buy/bring the host(s) a drink of their choice when you see them, for which they'd be very grateful. This saves money, that can be put towards the Meetup subscription fees and buying the games that we all play.
The George is a reasonably-priced 'local' pub in the Docklands, near Canary Wharf, just 1 minute walk from Crossharbour DLR station, about 6 minutes walk from South Quay DLR station, about 15 minutes walk from the Canary Wharf Jubilee line station, and a little further from the Elizabeth Line station. Various TFL buses stop nearby at Crossharbour station.
Please join our group on Facebook for tabletop games news, articles, memes, gossip and banter.
We're also on Aftergame, the platform for tabletop games events.
