Tacoma Permaculture Meetup

The Sanctuary is a Living Temple, an infant Food Forest, Biodiversity Bank, plant nursery, and more.

Our goal is to host community events including educational, organizational, ceremonial, and spiritual.

January 22, 2026 will mark 10 years since this project began.

For this event, we are offering a walk-through of a solar electric system, education and breakdowns of the system, all the parts, how they function, basic safety, testing, and diagnostics, with Q&A.

We are looking for more ways to generate sustainable funding for the project, and are excited by the possibilities of educational classes.

50$ is a suggested donation for the education and facilitation.

However we do not believe in financial impediment to education, so no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Work trades are very welcome (volunteer a couple hours of help in exchange for event)

January 22nd, 2016, we began the project of building an off-grid Sanctuary, A Food Forest and Biodiversity Bank planted in Sacred Geometric patterns like the Medicine Wheel, The Flower of Life, and more.

It has been the intention to Steward the space as a community event center for educational, ecological, ceremonial, and spiritual events.

We have been working to establish the infrastructure for larger scale events, and are working to expand sustainable income for the project.

In the 10 years we have learned a lot, often at great expense.

This event offers:

A) A guided tour of the Food Forest
B) Discussion about land ownership, real estate, and ways to become a Steward of land/property
C) A deep dive into Food Forestation, how you can get one started near where you live
D) A general discussion on "self" sustainability and sustainability

This project is 100% privately and community funded.

Suggested donation for a 3 hour tour is 50$. We also believe finances should not be an impediment to education, and we welcome work exchange (volunteer a couple hours of work)

We are still very limited on infrastructure and accomodations, so if the weather is heavy rain, we may have to reschedule.
