Tacoma REIA Chapter: Hoarder Houses

It doesn't take long for a real estate investor to run across a hoarder house. They come in varying degrees of severity from an overcrowded property to a hazardous environment, from "simple" cleanout to a significant overhaul.

Our expert speaker, whose hoarder cleanups have been featured on the A&E television show Hoarders, will guide you through the unique psychology of working with hoarding situations. You will discover how to readily spot a hoarder house, handle sensitive negotiations, close the deal with or without the home's contents, and manage the realities of property cleanup.

What we'll learn:

• How to Spot a Hoarder House: Learn how to recognize a hoarder house before you ever step through the door.
• The Psychology of Negotiation: Learn the finesse required to work successfully with hoarders.
• Deal Structuring: Provisions to include to ensure you don't bear the full cost of debris disposal.
• Closing the Deal: Understand how to take possession of the property smoothly.
• Property Cleanup Insights: Get expert advice on managing specialized property restoration.

Meeting day is Thursday, September 17th! Plan to arrive in time for both networking and the REIA AI Prompt Lab between 6 and 7 PM to connect with investors with similar interests and learn AI "shortcuts" for deal analysis, rental pricing and more! Our speaker will provide education from 7 - 9 PM. Bring your questions!
