What we’re about
The Tacoma Screenwriting Group's goal is to provide a time and place to meet like-minded individuals who want to push one another to grow as writers and creatives. Though this is a screenwriting themed group, we welcome all types of writers and all levels of expertise.
What to expect for a writing event?
We will have a combination of online zoom events, live events, table reads, and meet & greets. This is designed to inspire creativity and provide feedback to fellow writers on their writing journey. Feedback is one of the most important elements of growing your writing capabilities. The ability to take critical feedback and provide thoughtful analysis is a tool all writers must own.
Want more socializing?
Writing is inherently personal, private and often done without collaboration. Events will be planned to explore Tacoma as a destination to hone your descriptive skills and meet our fellow group members. Some events may come at a cost depending on the venue or meeting place.
Looking forward to meeting everybody!
Fundraising?
At times, the Fundraising will be active for this group. This is solely to support the Group's activities and or support fellow writers.
My goal is support a short film that the group can collaborate on sometime at the end of the year into early 2026.

Wednesday Scene Analysis Group aka WSAG by the NORTHWEST SCREENWRITERS GUILD https://www.nwsg.org/
The Wednesday meeting formally begins at 6:30 pm and runs till 8:30 pm -- The host will open the meeting at 6PM for social time and you are welcome to hangout afterwards for more notes or discussion and social engagement.PRESENTERS: The first 4 presenters are locked in and #5 and #6 are on standby.
Prior to casting your pages -- If your script contains violence or profanity, please provide a verbal warning to the group. This allows readers to ‘opt out’ if they choose.
If your script contains offensive subject matter, exorbitant violence and/or excessive harsh language, Please email your script to the NwSG board (admin@nwsg.org) for review. This way the host can give a verbal warning and move the presentation to the end of the evening, again allowing those who choose to ‘opt out’ , an opportunity without disruption.
Please upload your pages no later than 3 PM the Wednesday you present, this allows people to read ahead of time and we encourage you to post earlier in the week. We suggest adding on the title page of your script, a log line, list of characters, and set up for the scene you are presenting.
