Puyallup Writer's Block
Details
It's true, writing can be a solitary activity. But the journey is long, arduous and can sometimes feel hopeless. Though like in many post-apocalyptic stories we learn that odds of surviving increases when there are strength in numbers.
Come for accountability, support, advice, and hopefully make some friends along the way. While self-doubt are a cannon to our sails, support from fellow writers can be the strong gust of wind that gets you to your destination. Lifting each other up so that one day a new reader finds your book in their hands.
We'll spend the first 10-15 minutes greeting/socializing before getting into the write-in.
Optional: After introductions, writers could briefly discuss the scene they plan on working on. This would be a brief set-up of the setting, characters, the conflict, how it progresses the story, and what do you want the reader to feel.
We'll brainstorm with the writer and provide any initial questions, thoughts, etc. This will help us with both our spontaneous creativity, but we'll also be able to structurally visualize what we will be tackling during the session.
