What we’re about
Tacoma Arts and Crafts Group (TACG) is an arts and crafts based organization run by and for women to bring arts and crafts into our community. No art or craft experience is required to be part of our group.
TACG has been active for over 13 years as a supportive group of artist-crafters who talk, share our art, and sometimes lead each other in workshops. We hold one or more hands-on classes per month. We also have two ongoing interest groups, Paper Play/Art Journaling and Sewing Bee. Each meets at least once monthly for a small fee. Our monthly Craft Camp sessions are free and are a wonderful way to work on unfinished projects while being inspired by other members. In addition, we host member-only semi-annual weekend-retreats as getaways for extended crafting and fun. We also take occasional field trips to museums, outdoor venues, and inspirational artistic locations.
If you are new to our group, you may attend three events to get to know us, and two of these events can be paid events. Paid events open to non-members are generally classes/workshops. They are open to non-members provided that no members are waitlisted. These events are charged at a slightly higher rate than the member cost. Both the member and non-member prices are specified in each event description.
The extra fees for non-members are the following:
- For classes priced $5 to $19, there's a $5 add on;
- For classes costing $20 to $49, $10 is added;
- For classes between $50 to $99, $20 is added.
Our Monthly Meeting is always free. This is where we share what we have been working on and enjoy a potluck lunch together.
Dues for 2025 are $60.00, and prorated to $30 starting in July. Membership dues pay the cost of the meetup site, space rental, refreshments, administrative fees, and subsidize some of our workshops. Dues may be paid in person to our treasurer, Nadine Glass, by cash, check, or credit card, or through Venmo.
We'd love to meet you!

Cancellation Policy:
Annual TACG Members - TACG members do not cancel before the 48 hour window will be responsible for class fees.
People who have not joined us as annual members are welcome to attend up to three events, two paid. Because we have no way to contact people who have not officially joined TACG other than through Meet-up, our policy is as follows: If you have not paid one week prior to this class or event, we reserve the right to cancel your registration and remove you as an attendee. This allows us to open seats for others, and respects the preparation needs of our instructors and facilitators. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
How to pre-pay: You can pay with check, credit-card, or through Venmo. To pay with Venmo, please use the QR code in the photo gallery of most classes. If you would like to pay by check or credit card, please reach out to our treasurer, Nadine at 253-777-6117. It can help to text first if your number is not yet recognized in her phone.
