Embroidery for Beginners and Beyond

## Embroidery Project
Have fun making an interesting bookmark or patch while learning beginning or intermediate embroidery!

Kathy Kostka will provide:

• Jellyroll strips (2½” wide by varying lengths) of fabric (heavy-weight, similar to Kente cloth)
• Solid white fabric squares

### Instruction Focus

We’ll practice and apply four foundational embroidery stitches:

• Stem stitch
• Feather stitch
• Lazy daisy stitch
• French knot

Participants will create a small, finished piece that can be used as a bookmark, patch, or decorative embellishment.

• Scissors
• Chenille needles (size 18 or 24 — large eye for embroidery floss)
• Embroidery floss/thread
