Collage Cards: Cut, Layer, Play!
Details
Collage cards are wonderfully freeing — a mix of textures, colors, scraps, and that magical moment when everything suddenly clicks. This session invites you to explore collage in a relaxed, hands‑on way using the materials you already have.
✂️ What to Bring
Bring a sturdy base to collage onto — watercolor paper, mixed‑media paper, or anything thick enough to become a card front. We’ll also provide additional card bases and envelopes, so you can turn your creations into finished cards.
Bring scissors, glue, a brush for gluing, and your stash of “interesting bits”: patterned papers, magazine clippings, gelli prints, tissue, old envelopes, book pages, washi tape, fabric scraps — anything you’ve been saving because it might be good someday. Today is that day.
🌟 What we’ll explore
- Building layered collage backgrounds
- Using contrast, texture, and shape for visual impact
- Turning scraps into focal points
- Simple composition tricks that make a card pop
- A short demo on creating cohesive sets of collage cards
This class is playful, experimental, and perfect for all skill levels. With the materials provided and the ones you bring, you’ll leave with at least one finished card and plenty of ideas for more.
Come collage with us and enjoy an afternoon of creativity, conversation, and joyful mess‑making.
