This is an opportunity to get outdoors and hike with like minded individuals. This is not a professionally guided hike so please use your judgment as to the risks and your capabilities in taking this hike. The hike is considered a moderate hike. It is 6.7 miles long on an out and back trail. The elevation gain is 1,686 feet. The trailhead is rocky so having proper footing such as hiking boots is important. I plan to bring treker poles. Also, please bring plenty of water. The trail goes to the shore of Snow Lake and offers a view of Chair Peak. It is scheduled early to enable us to find parking. It will not be a rushed hike. There will be time to take pictures. A Northwest Forest Pass or an Interagency/America the Beautiful Pass is required to park. Alternately, you can pay $5 for a day pass using an on-site credit card fee machine. IMPORTANT...There are many Snow Lakes. This is the one with the trailhead off of ALPENTAL ROAD near Snoqualme Pass. This hike may be rescheduled if there are unforseen weather conditions or family emergencies. I definitely want to go so hopefully things will work out. You may be asked to confirm the evening before so that we will know to look for you.
