A Taste of Red Mountain
Details
Please note this event is at Lake Tapps!!!
Location: Lake Tapps (We encourage you to rideshare or have a designated driver.)
Join us for a special afternoon as Dana and Dale share a curated selection of Cooper Red Mountain wines—bringing some of Washington’s most sought-after pours right to our glasses.
Estate L’inizio 2022 6 BDX Blend [40%CS, 20%MR, 15%CF, 15%CM, 5%PV, 5%MB]
Aroma: Forward notes of black currant, blackberry, and a distinct layering of earthy cedar, smoke, and graphite.
Palate: Intense dark fruit flavors dominant in black cherry and plum, interwoven with savory spices, dried herbs, and crushed pepper.
Structure: Medium-to-full body with prominent, well-structured tannins typical of Red Mountain. A subtle touch of milk chocolate and vanilla smooths out the bold, dry finish.
Estate C4 2020 3 BDX Blend [33.3%CS, 33.3%CF, 33.3%CM]
Aroma: Green bell pepper, anise, pipe tobacco, cassis and spice.
Palate: Prominent flavors of red cherry, wild blackberry, anise, and fresh coffee grounds. The heavy Carménère influence weaves in complex secondary notes of roasted jalapeño, cracked peppercorn, cocoa, and warm earth.
Structure: Typical of Red Mountain, it is bold, lively, and incredibly light on its feet despite its power. It features solid, structured tannins and a long finish balanced by savory dried herbs.
Estate Carménère 2022 [100%CM]
Aroma: Powerful and savory. It opens with striking notes of jalapeño, charred poblano pepper, smoke, and ash. This herbaceousness is balanced by deep aromas of black cherry and dark plum.
Palate: Highly expressive with dominant flavors of ripe blackberry, pomegranate, and cassis. It features prominent mid-palate layers of cracked peppercorn, licorice, and baking chocolate.
Structure: Unlike standard Chilean Carménères which can be softer and medium-bodied, the Red Mountain climate imbues Cooper's bottling with firmer, highly structured tannins and a dense, dry finish.
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 [100%CS]
Aroma: Rich blackberry, black cherry, and dark plum.
Palate: Hints of dark chocolate, savory dried herbs, and warm earth reflecting the high-desert Red Mountain terroir.
Structure: Bold and well-structured with a velvet-like texture and integrated, firm tannins typical of Red Mountain's sparse soils and windy slopes.
Bonus fun: Pickle ball!
You may be wondering—does pickle ball pair with wine? Absolutely. Get the blood moving in the sunshine, lakeside… now that’s a true taste of the good life.
Come ready to sip, swirl, play, and enjoy the lake and great wine with even better company.
