What we’re about

Tahoe Beginner Snowshoe & Uphill Hiking is a relaxed winter hiking group for adults (ideally 30+) who are looking to build skills, confidence, and community in snowy mountain terrain. We’re a group of beginners ourselves, still learning as we go, and invite you to join us on this journey of discovery. Our focus is on beginner-friendly winter hikes and snowshoe outings around Tahoe, like Mt. Tallac and Donner Summit, using basic gear such as snowshoes, microspikes, poles, and winter boots. Our pace is easy, conversational, and always includes plenty of breaks.
Whether you’re new to winter hiking or snowshoeing, or an experienced hiker who enjoys taking it slow, you’ll feel at home here. Our goal is to build a strong foundation together and gradually take on more technical winter objectives as we grow our skills.
