Experience a challenging late winter / early spring hike to Ralston Peak with stunning views of Lake Tahoe, Desolation Wilderness, and surrounding Sierra peaks. The hike is about 6.3 miles round trip with ~2,765 ft of elevation gain. Expect steady climbing, snow-covered terrain, and possible icy sections near the summit. Summit attempt will depend on conditions.

Current snow depth is around 32 inches. Snowshoes may be useful in softer sections, but microspikes may be enough on packed trail, so please bring both.

We will start from the Ralston Peak trailhead off Hwy 50 and hike as a group. This is a strenuous hike best suited for experienced winter hikers.

Meet time: 8:30 AM
Parking is available at roadside pullouts near the trailhead.
