Tai chi is a Chinese martial art that is characterized by slow, graceful movements and flowing, circular patterns. It is often practiced as a form of exercise, meditation, and stress relief, as well as for its potential health benefits.
Tai chi is based on the principles of balance, relaxation, and the flow of energy (called "qi" or "chi") through the body. Practitioners move through a series of postures or "forms," which involve shifting the body weight, turning, and stretching in various directions. The movements are typically performed in a slow, controlled manner, with a focus on proper alignment and deep, controlled breathing.
