In brief…
Taoist Yoga, also known as Tao Yin, is a health art that was developed independently in China. While it may appear similar to traditional Indian yoga, the focus is on releasing tension in the body to allow natural flows, rather than activating the nervous system through a lock and release system. At an advanced level, Taoist Yoga may improve the functions of internal organs and release underlying emotional and cognitive stress when combined with Taoist meditation.

Taoist Yoga is the art known as Tao Yin. It was independently developed in China. While they share similar outward appearances and benefits internally they can be quite different based on the teacher’s focus.
Traditional Indian yoga uses a lock and release system to pump blood, lymph and other fluids through the body, this process revs up the nervous system.
In Taoist Yoga the focus is on releasing any excess tension in the body allowing these flows to open up naturally. Movement then can relax rather than activate the nervous system.
At an advanced level Taoist Yoga may penitrate the deep core improving the functions of the internal organs. Combined with Taoist meditation it may also release underlying emotional and cognitive stress.
