TAICO July 2025 Meetup!

Details
The TAICO team is happy to announce our next meetup at the Adaptavist office in Toronto. Much thanks to Adaptavist for hosting!
Wayfinding
- Please be careful when using maps features on phones, some people have been redirected to a completely wrong address. The event is near Winners on Front St, which is just south, across the street, from Berczy Park (where the dog fountain is) so if you are not near that area, you are in the wrong place.
Registration and Event Details
Our goal is to bring artificial intelligence and cybersecurity together. To do that, we need to explore what's happening in AI and what's happening in cybersecurity, and where the two intersect and collide. We're also working to understand how we solve problems in these areas, what that looks like, and how Canada can and will participate.
With that in mind, we're pleased to announce our speaker and the agenda for our next meeting!

🎤 Speaker #1: Kosseila HD
Title: Local LLM inference on Cloud managed Kubernetes your path to 100% privacy
Abstract
In a world accustomed to AI assistants using pricey proprietary models from companies like OpenAI, what if your users require full control over the personal information exchanged with AI models? is there a way ? The answer is yes! Join us to explore how to build a web-based private chatbot powered by Local LLM inference straight out of ollama pods, ensuring 100% data privacy for containerized workloads in Kubernetes clusters powering your favorite chatbot and IDE.
🎤 Speaker #2: Logan Wolfe
Title: Enforcing Identity, Access, and Governance in Agentic Enterprise AI Systems
Abstract
AI agents, autonomous systems capable of reasoning, decision-making, and acting on behalf of users, are becoming a cornerstone of modern enterprise workflow automation. From internal copilots to customer-facing bots and process orchestrators, these agents represent a new category of workload: dynamic, contextual, and independent. Yet their rapid adoption introduces an urgent security and governance dilemma.
Unlike traditional human users or services, AI agents today typically operate outside of identity and access management (IAM) frameworks. They lack persistent, verifiable identities, have no standardized access control model, and rarely offer runtime observability. This creates serious enterprise risks:
- Agents cannot be governed by policies aligned with their capabilities or context.
- IAM systems like Okta, Entra, or AWS Cognito are user-centric, not agent-native.
- Enterprises have no mechanism to enforce Zero Trust principles for agent-initiated actions.
- This lack of identity and governance is already a blocker for production deployment of autonomous AI systems in regulated industries.
This talk introduces Iron Book (https://docs.identitymachines.com), a dedicated zero-trust identity, access, policy, and compliance enforcement SDK/platform for enterprise AI agents. It issues each agent a decentralized identifier (DID), assigns a rich verifiable credential (VC) based on declared capabilities and trust scores, and uses extremely granular policy enforcement to enforce access on a just-in-time, per-task basis. Agents authenticate and receive short-lived credentials, eliminating standing privileges and enabling full-stack immutable auditability, compliance, behavioral threat detection, and other capabilities.
The session concludes with a technical demonstration of the Iron Book SDK and backend framework.
You’ll see how:
- Any agent can register securely and receive a unique cryptographic identity
- Access tokens are issued via just-in-time DID-based assertions
- Enterprise policies (in Rego/OPA) control actions based on agent’s dynamic trust score, capabilities, and context
- Every decision is logged and traceable, enabling compliance and digital forensics or incident response
This architecture redefines how enterprises adopt agentic AI without sacrificing control, compliance, or security.

⚡ Lightning Talks and Demos
Lightning Talks - 5 to 10 minutes long
- You? - Please reach out if you'd like to do a lightning talk or demo
Please reach out to us if you'd like to present at the meetup. We are looking for people to talk about what they are working on, what they are building and learning, and are open to any level of experience and technical depth. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, we want to hear from you! We're all just out here building and learning.
👋 See You There!
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you at the meetup!
