Hiking Shelter Dogs with Nassau Humane Society!

What could be better than spending a Saturday morning hiking a shelter dog while also supporting a new local business? Come out and join us at Lost Dog Outfitters (17 S. 8th Street, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034) and shop local afterwards! They will be hosting a 'Gathering of the Goldens' event at the store from 12-3:00 and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to Tails of the Trail!

Tails of the Trail invites you to hike with shelter dogs for a couple of hours of exercise and companionship. We're partnering with Nassau Humane Society (NHS) (https://www.nassauhumane.org/) and we'll hike the pups around downtown Fernandina Beach.

Agenda:
8:15a- Park in either the parking lot next to the store or in the parking lot across the street (First Love and La Surena) and walk over to the store (look for the table with the yellow tablecloth) to sign in and attend our required Volunteer Orientation.
8:30a - Get paired with your furry hiking companion and hit the road! There will be water stations along the way with volunteers throughout the route to guide you.
9:45a - Complete hike with the dogs, take pup portraits and have pupuccino treats.
10:00a - Now it's time for human socialization.
10:15a - Conclude event and thanks so much for joining us!
What to bring:
• You may bring a guest but only one (1) dog per RSVP.
• Waitlisted participants are encouraged to join in the FUN though will not be guaranteed a dog to walk.
• Children with a parent or guardian are welcome to participate however kids under 18 may not be the sole leash holder.
• Please feel free to bring donations for the shelter (treats, old blankets and sheets, canned dog food).
• No personal pets allowed.
For your safety and the safety of the dogs:
• You must sign an NHS Volunteer Waiver, required on your first visit only. Waivers will be provided at sign in.
• No dogs off leash at any time.
