It's a brand new campground near Council Bluff Lake. We have 12 of the 14 available sites reserved for our group, so it will be our own private little oasis. They have a shower house, a lake, and a small store. All sites are full RV equipped, with electric and water. We stayed here in October, and it's a very nice spot.

Cost is $40/night, so you can share a site to help with cost. You can have 2 tents or 1 camper/1 tent per site. Two dogs per site, but I don't think they'll be too picky, since we have the entire campground reserved. Well socialized dogs only, please.

CELL RECEPTION IS SPOTTY. We had reception October for Verizon/ATT.

ECLIPSE VIEWING AROUND NOON TO 1:00 ON MONDAY. We'll have plenty of time to paddle too, we won't just sit there for 4 hours. There is apparently a nice, quiet part of the lake to launch, just about 5 minutes from the campground. They will have maps for us to get there.

IF YOU HAVE GLASSES FROM LAST ECLIPSE, THEY ARE NO GOOD. THEY HAVE EXPIRATION DATES. BUY SOME NEW ONES.

THE CAMPGROUND WILL HAVE ECLIPSE GLASSES AVAILABLE AT THE CAMP STORE.

The eclipse is Monday at 1:00, we will plan to drive to Council Bluff Lake for that. Plan is to launch around 10:00 and just paddle around/hang out. And, as always, plans subject to slight changes on site at the campground. "schedule" can be revised the night before or morning of, depending on weather and how much we party on Sunday night.

If you're staying somewhere else, probably best to just show up at the campground around 8:30 a.m. each morning and go with the flow.

You don't have to stay the entire 4 days, but expect a LOT of traffic on the roads for this. There are a bunch of "festivals" in this immediate area. That's why most of us are staying Monday night, to avoid traffic. Most of us are booked for 4 days, 3 nights, Saturday through Tuesday.

FOOD: Everyone bring your own food for Saturday and Monday. We will have a pot luck on Sunday night at one of the campsites. The campground will have live music, adult slushies and food on Saturday night. The music is free, slushies and food cost $. They will let me know what food they'll have, once menu is decided.

COMMENT BELOW WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO POT LUCK.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO BRING FIREWOOD.
