Where to Meet: Trailhead Parking Lot. Once you are in the park, follow the road to the right all the way down, past the restrooms, until you see the parking lot by the trailhead. The road ends at the parking lot. If you still see more road, you haven't gone far enough.

Silver Lake Trail is a 4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Highland, Illinois that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Well maintained, out & back trail through the woods following along Highland's Silver Lake. The trail runs North into I-70 where it loops back around into the original trail back.

Attitude: Friendly humans and dogs only
Recommended Gear: Hiking Boots
Dog necessities and plenty of water

I am not a travel guide. Safety is super important, so please know your limits and be careful on the trails.
This will not be a power hike. We stop frequently for pictures and general shenanigans. We will hike at a pace the group is comfortable with, with no pup left behind.
