***PARK IS CLOSED, MOVING THIS TO SIMPSON*** KAYAKING at George Winter Park

Details
Usually a shorter, easy little paddle. Upriver from George Winter to Minnie Ha Ha, then back down. If there's enough water, we can try to get up Fenton Creek...if the big tree has moved out of the way.
After that, we can go to the island in the lake for a beach party. Great sandbars. There's no real agenda here, we just paddle aimlessly around and go where it looks interesting.
B.Y.O.BOAT, no rentals here
Okay for beginners and all kayaks, including Intex "greenies". This is the perfect spot to get on the river, if you've never done it before. Very safe for everyone. There might be some current here after a rain.
There are some bigger boats, jet skis, and Asian Carp at one spot.
LIFE JACKETS:
DOGS must wear life jacket at all times when on the water.
HUMANS must wear life jackets on river floats.
KEEP DOGS LEASHED ON LAND.
Arrive early and be ready to launch at scheduled time. If you're late, catch up. Paddle through the lake, into the river and turn left
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
Use your GPS or meetup mapping to get to the park. Once inside the park, pass the first big parking lot in full sun. Continue on down the road to the second parking lot/ramp, where you can park under the trees.
PLEASE, STAY TO THE LEFT ON BOAT LAUNCH RAMP. It's a big ramp and lots of trailers here. We're actually supposed to use the other ramp, but that leaves our cars in full sun and hot for pups after we finish,. Just be polite and stay out of the way of the boats and trailers.

Canceled
