KAYAKING ON THE MERAMEC RIVER. River Round to Choteau Claim.

A new run for us, this will be about 5-6 miles. There is a boat ramp at River Round. We will float down to the Choteau Claim Access, where we launched before when we went to Robertsville.

Google says a 10 minute shuttle drive, so we need to check it out.

I've never been here, but some of us have gone by it when we floated with Old Cove Outfitters. It was the halfway point. If we like it, we can go on to Robertsville Park the next time for 10-11 miles. It shouldn't be too scary, the river is just too low to be too exciting.

SHUTTLE:

INFLATABLES will meet at Choteau Claim at 9:30 and load into as few cars as possible, then drive to River Round. Hopefully, we can launch by 10:30 or so.

HARDSHELLS will have to work out their own shuttle plans.

PLEASE COMMENT BELOW if you have an inflatable or hardshell. Also if you have a dog and size of dog if we don't know you. Communication is essential in these self shuttle floats. If you don't communicate clearly, you might end up without a ride and going back home.

I've shown Choteau Claim as our meetup point. Meetup mapping is usually good. This is off Old Cove Road, immediately before you cross the RR tracks. There is a brown/white sign on the left, just before the tracks. Between Union and St Clair exits off Hwy 44
