From Alltrails:
This is a great trail across the bridge and has incredible views. This bridge was featured in a scene from Escape from New York. It's also part of the old Route 66. On the Missouri side of the bridge, there are restrooms and picnic tables. Parking is on the Illinois side only. No motor vehicles allowed, but bikes and pedestrians are ok. Accessibility: There are at least 2 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Chain of Rocks Road. Both of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is smooth pavement and typically at least 10 feet wide. There is a yellow divider line on the trail on the section from the parking lot to the bridge (reducing the width of each lane). Except for a very steep section in the first 0.05 miles, the estimated grade is mostly gentle (5% or less). Assistance may be needed for wheelchair/mobility equipment or stroller users when leaving the parking lot in the steep section.
