ECHO BLUFF CAMPOUT
Details
Missouri's newest and fanciest campground. Not a tree on the place, but we want all the sunshine we can get in winter! Open year round with real bathrooms and showers! I believe all campsites are 50 amp electric, probably with full hookups ... but not certain about that.
This is the campground that's famous for the wild horses wandering freely through the campsites. Let's hope we see them. Be aware of this, though, with the dogs. Please keep your dog leashed around the horses.
There are also cabins and a lodge, but don't think many are dog friendly. A beautiful lodge with restaurant. It has a patio where dogs can go, but we would have to take turns going in to order food. Dogs are not allowed inside the lodge/restaurant, only on patio.
HIKING: Not sure what we'll do once we get there, but I'll try to find us a trail. There is a 2.3 mile "Painters Ridge Trail" near the lodge, sounds like a good place to start. apparently creeks and bluff views. There's good river access behind the lodge by the big bluff. There are other trails nearby.

About 2.5 hrs from Valley Park, down Hwy 44. Easy to get to, but the road is a little curvy in spots. Use your GPS, it's not hard to find. However, if you miss the entrance there is nowhere to turn around, so watch for turn off into big entrance to park on left.
I will have my tent. Will try to reserve a spot as the time gets closer, but not yet. When you reserve a site, please comment below.
