***Last Minute*** KAYAKING at Simpson Lake. From boat ramp, not beach
Details
The winds are going to wait until later today, so I'm going back to Simpson. I still have all my stuff in the car, hoping for another day.
Meet at boat ramp, we'll go up the creek for sure. About 2 miles.
We'll go around the lake, if it's not too windy. Another 1 mile.
This is a really good place for first timer paddlers and first timer dogs. Safe, easy, no current. Usually little to no wind problem in the creek, due to the high banks, so we can paddle here on days that are too windy to go anywhere else.
Hopefully, the eagles will be hanging around for us.
DOGS MUST WEAR PFD AT ALL TIMES!
Humans must have PFD aboard, it's state law. They work better if you wear them.
Arrive early, be ready to launch at 10:00. If you're late, catch up. Creek is in the corner of the lake by the boat ramp.
If you have a new inflatable kayak, I'll be happy to help you get started, but you have to let me know. I will come early and help you set up. We launch at scheduled time, 10:00 a.m., so you need to be ready to go by then. Be sure to unbox it and take packaging off. You should inflate and let it sit for 12 hrs to be sure there are no leaks. Charge your pump. Just do some prep work before you get to the lake.
DIRECTIONS:
Use meetup mapping, we launch from the boat ramp and NOT the beach.
This is on GRAND GLAIZE PARKWAY off Marshall Road. Just a few feet east of the levee tunnel. There is a big MSD sign where you turn, and a street sign for GRAND GLAIZE.
Not sure if they have the porta potty on site this early, so don't count on it.
