A couple of us have new solar power banks, and we want to try them out. Winnie and I will be camping in the BASIC campsites, which have water but no electricity. As of 5/28, there are 33 sites available, so I plan to drive in and pick a site when I get there. Basic sites are only $15/night.

I think there might be one or two electric sites available too. A couple more sometimes open up at the last minute, but you really need to reserve those in advance.

We will kayak the lake on Saturday and I will post that as a separate event for those who don't want to camp. We have cell service here too, so we can keep in touch if weather threatens again.

KAYAKING: It's not a big lake, but very pretty with lots of coves to explore. Sign up on the kayak event if you want to do just that.

There is a nice hiking trail, but I'm sure it's just LOADED WITH TICKS.

CLOSE IN: Less than an hour from 44/141, even closer for most of you.

DRIVING: Be sure you have your GPS engaged when you get there. This is a huge park and the campground is a couple of miles back in. I plugged in Cuiver River State Park Campground, and drove right to the site. Several people got lost when they didn't search for "campground".
