It's a 6 mile run and a very pleasant part of the river. Nothing too scary, some good current and decent scenery. Lots of gravel bars to stop and play. It should be hot, so we will stop a lot, or as needed.

If you're new to river runs with you dog, this is a good one to start with.

DOGS AND PEOPLE MUST WEAR PFD AT ALL TIMES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

B.Y.O.BOAT, no rentals.
No Intex or folding kayaks. You need an upgraded inflatable or a hardshell. Hardshells must be 10' minimum.

BE SURE TO COMMENT BELOW WHAT KIND OF KAYAK (AND DOG) YOU HAVE, SO WE CAN PLAN OUR SHUTTLE!

SHUTTLE PLANS FOR INFLATABLES: If you want to come along, be at the Robertsville State Park Boat Ramp by 9:00 at the latest. That is the take-out spot. We will load people and gear into a car or two and drive to the put in.

SHUTTLE PLANS FOR HARDSHELLS: We'll figure it out, when we see who is coming. None of us "blow up people" are equipped to haul a hardshell, so you might have to be sure to have a shuttle buddy. Just communicate.

LOCATION SHOWN IS ROBERTSVILLE BOAT RAMP, all the way at the back of the park.

It's about a 25 minute drive to the put in at Choteau Claim. We'll need shuttle drivers after the float to run people back to their cars at the put in.
We'll need helpers for this. If you have a cargo rack or a big truck, you can help out please.

Hopefully, we'll hit the water around 10:00-10:30. Floating time about 3 hours if we play a lot. We usually end up at about 2 mph average, with play time.

Please comment below if you have hard shell or inflatable, and if you have a dog, and size of your dog if we don't already know you. Inflatables are much easier for our group to shuttle, so if you have a choice, bring your blow up boats.

Here is the link for Choteau Claim, the put-in/launch site. Just FYI. It is about halfway between Union and St Clair.
