HAWN WINTER CAMPOUT

Time for a winter campout and some good hiking.

Hawn has a great campground, but facilities will be closed.

WATER/BATHROOMS: There is a vault toilet, but no shower house. Water is turned OFF on Nov 1st, so you need to bring your own. There is usually one spot to get water, but it might not be walking distance.

ELECTRIC IS ON, so bring your heater and an electric blanket.

RESERVATIONS: Usually, we can just drive in and pick a site when we get there. That's the nice thing about winter. No other people. You can arrive early on Friday, there won't be a crowd at the campground.

HIKING: We'll plan on the trail along Pickle Creek on Saturday. It's level and follows a beautiful mountain stream. There are plenty of other trails here too. It's famous for it's hiking trails.

FOOD: Our groups are usually smaller, so we will just bring our own dinners. No pot luck.

CAMPFIRES: Bring wood. We'll pick a campsite for campfires both Friday and Saturday nights.
