Details
Topic 1:
Ansible
Speaker: Apua
Speaker Introduction:
Hi! I am Apua, yet another Python lover. You can pronounce my name whatever you want.
Now I am working on implementing a tool to auto deploy/upgrade a system of company, and Ansible looks like a good choice for me.
Abstract:
The configuration management (CM) process is widely used. There are some well-known tools such as Puppet or Chef.
Ansible is a new CM tool written in Python, which is designed minimal, secure, and low learning curve.
This talk will present what Ansible looks like, how to use it, how it works, and try to compare it with other tools.
This talk would be in Chinese. (My English is weak.)
Topic 2:
Feedback Loops for Continuous Deployment at Etsy
Speaker: jimmybot
Speaker Introduction:
I'm the engineering manager for the Personalization product team at Etsy. I recently led a team building the new homepage and global navigation, and in the past, worked on the activity feed, search ads, and the api teams, and have worked heavily on data analysis and product experimentation at Etsy. I previously studied a masters in CS in Taiwan at National Tsing-hua University.
Etsy Introduction:
Etsy is the world's largest marketplace for handmade and vintage goods. Our mission is to re-imagine commerce in ways that build a more fulfilling and lasting world. Our offices are based in Brooklyn, San Francisco, London, Dublin, Berlin, and many other locations around the world. Our Engineering team thinks of our code as craft and that the work we do is part of larger creative culture represented by the hundreds of thousands of inspired artists and designers who make Etsy such a wondrous marketplace. We believe in the right tool for the job, not language-as-religion: our current systems run PHP, Java, Python, Ruby, Solr, Postgres, MySQL, Hadoop and more. Learn more on our blog, Code as Craft, about some of the challenges we face as we serve billions of page views per a month: https://codeascraft.com/
