Taste of Winter: Dongpian

Traditionally harvested after winter frost, its production usually falls between December and early-January. I'm referring to the elusive Dongpian tea. Winter season tea in Taiwan is known for its full body and aroma, but this winter tea is a category unto itself.

This year, I've sourced two delectable Dongpian: one that tastes of wild forest, and another of a chilly field of flowers. Rounding these up is a a third, more typical version of the tea. Learn how to discern the distinct flavor and aroma of wild grown Dongpian.
