Topic: Machine Learning: Theory, Implementation and Practice
Description: People have been talking about Big Data and Machine Learning these days. In these talk, I will try to define big data and machine learning problems clearly and precisely. As we also care about the speed and accuracy of the models, I will talk about the theories behind implementing fast and good classifiers, and show case by some open-source software, mostly LIBSVM.Last but not least, usually people do not want a model only, they want a whole system that includes models, visualizations, user interfaces (for non-tech users,) etc. I will use my previous hack-a-thon projects and some of my start-up experiences to show what you may encounter if you practice machine learning in real world.
PS: He will not talk about anything confidential about Google.
