Take a Hike! @ Cunningham Falls

Join us for a hike at Cunningham Falls, where good company meets beautiful scenery. We’ll follow forest trails at a relaxed pace, enjoying friendly conversation along the way while getting some fresh air and exercise. Whether you come for the views, the camaraderie, or both, it’s a great way to connect with people who enjoy spending time outdoors.

Our 3.11-mile loop takes us through shaded woods with a gentle 535 feet of elevation gain, passing Maryland’s largest cascading waterfall before continuing on to complete the circuit. The trail offers a mix of natural beauty and peaceful surroundings, making it a rewarding outing for both seasoned hikers and those just looking to enjoy time outside.

After the hike, you’re welcome to join us for an optional lunch at the Springfield Manor Winery Distillery Brewery, 11836 Auburn Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788.

Meet at 9:30 AM in front of the Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center, 14707 Park Central Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788.

Elevation Gain: 535 feet

Difficulty Level: Intermediate Hike
This hike features moderate inclines and a fairly easy stream crossing. Hiking poles are recommended for added balance and stability.

This hike is expected to take approximately 2.5 hours, which accounts for breaks and group pace.
