Is your Bucket List of things to do with your kids, teenager, or something similar with family or relatives visiting, needing a top up for kid friendly adventures together?
Are you wanting to go somewhere else in nature to meet other families or solo mums or dad's, in the weekend...or mid week occasionally...and the chance your children may get new connections too , to grow their interests in spending time outside together with you ,or another grown-up?
Do you want to learn outdoor skills for the NZ Bush. How to cross streams or a river safely, or walk down a slippery slope, what clothes and equipment suits the location you hike, or how to stay safe, going into the bush ?
That's why I've started this new Meet Up Group, Kid Friendly Adventure Activities to help you, to get outdoors together with a long time Auckland Walking and Hiking Guide.. Stephen French , a previous Organiser and Outdoor Trip Leader, and the Founder, of one of Aucklands, biggest and well known, and established Meet Up Group, since 2010, of Feet First Hiking And Urban Walking Group..which currently has over 9000 members.
Now I'm on a mission to get kids and older ones too...active, entertained and happy to enjoy quality time , keep fitness important at any age being outdoors ...with you...Share our wonder at being in nature away from their countless hours of many unnecessary screen time. Offer alternatives to learn outdoor skills , care of the environment, and help both novices and those with sime experience to feel safe, to visit and enjoy the New Zealand bush.
With this new Summer Season 2025/2026 - Meet Up Group - Kid Friendly Adventure Activities in Auckland & Beyond, we will have something here for you and your kids, or teenager , nephews or nieces, brother, sisters, siblings , grandchildren etc ..available most weekends and occasionally during the week and school holidays...
Outdoor activities and occasionally indoor adventures too this Summer Season...Choose from Kid Friendly Outdoor Bush Walks. We will discover hidden waterfalls, kauri forest, gurgling streams, black sand beaches, sea caves, and see native birds up close, like our Kiwi, on night walks, and do camping under the stars, and sing campfire songs or do skits, learn knots, or make gadgets, something about the things we see along the way like our Native birds we hear, and identify trees, like the Puriri or Rimu and other species of plants and ferns, by doing field trips and nature discovery trails ..together...slower paced walks.. for all ages ..and those special occasions you simply want to find a hidden trail to explore.
Our Kid Friendly Adventures are perfect for limiting screen time, and staying indoors..on a fine, sunny weather day..
If you're thinking of introducing a kid or teenager to the wonders of hiking, or easier Urban bush walking, in Auckland, and Beyond, we will provide valuable tips on what to bring and how to keep your young hiker safe and happy on the trail, and entertained.
Hiking in the Great Outdoors is a simple gift we all can assist children ,grandkids and young friends. Unlike playing music, writing poetry, painting pictures, or other activities that also can fill your soul, hiking does not require any special skill. All you need is to put one foot in front of the other in the outdoors , repeatedly..and breathe deeply..
Our group setting is set to " private" ( verus the default "public ") to protect the privacy of our membership. You must be a member to see Member information and Event details.
