Details
Greetings Photographers!
During this beginner/intermediate photography class we will visit the Charlestown Navy Yard. Lots of opportunities for wabi sabi industrial shots.Wabi Sabi mindset opens you up to photograph subjects that reflect the passage of time, and the beauty of imperfection. You might find yourself photographing peeling paint or rusty pipes because of the beautiful textures and colors.
We will spend the first hour photographing the gritty industrial Navy Yard and surrounding warehouses. This is a fascinating overlooked area most tourists never visit. So even if you have been to Charlestown Navy Yard before, this is sure to be new territory for you to explore.
Then during the second half we may go on the ships but it is not the focus of the class this time. PHOTO ID MAY BE REQUIRED SO PLEASE HAVE HANDY
I was thrilled with the photo opportunities I discovered on the far side of the docks. Great for macro, nifty 50 lens, and telephoto. We will have incredible views of the Boston Skyline from that location as well. But I really love all the industrial equipment and materials in the Navy Yard. So much to photograph. Also good for black and white. see sample photos in the album
