Low Light Newbury Street Photography: Colors and Light at Night
Details
Greetings Photographers!
Join us to get in the holiday spirt. Newbury Street will be all decked out in fabulous lights and decorations that make for great photography.
We will start at the glittery fancy end of Newbury St. and work our way along the street ending at the gritty area of Mass Ave. It is fun to find ways to capture both types of shots. This is the perfect time to do a night shoot since it gets dark early and it is still nice out. We do this shoot every year and always see something exciting and new.
We will be on the move and not using tripods, but if you what to bring one you can. I'll provide some tips for using them on a busy street. But the idea is to shoot in manual mode and use a wide open f/stop to get enough light. So this is really a fast glass class. But honestly there is plenty of light so you can even shoot in aperture priority if you like. I can help you with the settings.
We will play around with different effects that make the most of low light photography. Some subjects you can focus on:
- Reflections in windows
- Window Displays
- Architecture
- People and pets
- Layers and colors of light
- Abstracts
I will also be providing a list of rules to break which will challenge you to try some new techniques and provide sample photos you can use after the class to keep experimenting.
Get ready to see Newbury Street if a whole new light as we stroll.
Hope to see you there.
