What we’re about
We have an amazing Bluegrass Community in Takoma Park thanks to the wonderful teachers at The School of Musical Traditions!
Local roots musicians Ira Gitlin, Mary Naden, Mari Carlson, Justin Heath, Nick Cameron, Gabby Cameron, and Sophie Chang host 3 Bluegrass jams every month.
Located at 7112 Willow Avenue, the school is an off shoot of the famous music store House of Musical Traditions located just down the street. Join us to play in a supportive, laid back environment!

- Jammers should know at least the basics of their instrument, so they can play along with the group.
- Bring a song or fiddle tune if you've got one, everyone gets a chance to call a tune.
- Don't be afraid to take a solo, this is a beginner friendly jam and everyone is really supportive.
- This is a jam, not a class. We'll help where we can but be prepared to learn on the fly.
- Arrive at 7:00pm to enjoy the full 2-hour session!
