TalkThenSee is a different — and better — way to make local connections online.

At a time when social media can leave us more connected yet more distant, TalkThenSee makes real-life human connection easier by letting it begin naturally and gradually — with conversation first, then seeing each other if it feels right, and ultimately meeting in person.

Why better? Because online you can meet locals from the comfort and safety of your place — without the hassle of traveling or dealing with awkward in-person situations, and for less.

Some events are about making new friends; others are about dating. Each event clearly says what kind of connections it is for.

Conversation is the best bridge.

TalkThenSee runs on its own purpose-built platform — not a generic video meeting room. Conversations are private and one-to-one, start by voice, and video opens only if both people choose it.

After a short conversation, if you both "click", you can turn on video and meet face-to-face — or keep talking by voice and preserve the intrigue.

The event is live and facilitated, with several pairings throughout the evening.
At the end of each encounter, if you both choose “Talk Again,” you’ll get the other person’s email and a FREE, PRIVATE video-chat room available for up to ten days after the event.

Our goal is to make online local connections more comfortable, private, fun and human — and a better way to meet people you really click with.

The group welcomes adults of all ages. Individual events may have their own age ranges or themes.

P.S. Why TalkThenSee improves your chances: probability (Bayesian inference) helps estimate how our chances change with new information. Starting with a hypothetical 10% chance of continued contact, five minutes of conversation followed by mutual agreement to see each other could raise it to 25%, mutual “Talk Again” to 50%, and reconnecting in a private room within 10 days to 75%. TalkThenSee makes these progressive, voluntary connections possible while letting you meet many more people, more often, and from home.
