What we’re about

The Weekend Writers' Meetup is a bi-weekly, in person group for writers and aspiring writers. We meet on the patio at Jeri's Love on a Plate and enjoy each other’s company while we discuss our work and the nature of writing.

We've tried to create a safe space for writers at all levels -- aspiring, published, or much-published -- to share our work, and to provide feedback on others' writing. Sometimes simply because we wish to have someone hear what we have written in solitude. Other times we share our work because we are not comfortable with some aspect of what we have written, and sometimes we need feedback, but no one is required to share their work, and at times no one does.  We simply talk about writing and our lives.

Some members write fiction, short stories or novels or plays.  Some write poetry, and some write business or academic material.  Some write strictly for pleasure, some are striving to be published, and some come for the coffee and cameraderie.

We strive to keep our meetings laid back, friendly, and fun.  As Chuck Palahniuk said, “Use writing as your excuse to throw a party each week — even if you call that party a ‘workshop.'”

You'll get information about accessing our shared Google drive, and how to upload your work and provide feedback on the work of others, when you attend your first meeting.

Be safe and kind!
