Sixfold special – cross-cluster monitoring stack + Kafka joys and woes

Details
Hi DevOps folks!
We are back with another Tallinn DevOps Meetup – and this time we are glad that Sixfold is sharing their experiences and lessons with the rest of us as well as sponsoring and hosting this meetup.
Sixfold is targeting one of the last undisrupted industries. Today, they help massive industrial shippers and carriers make magic with trucks and shipments all over Europe. Hundreds of thousands of trips. Real-time mapping. AI-powered delivery estimates. Enough performance data to fill a stadium.
With founders and engineers who helped build and launch Skype, Taxify, Teleport, GrabCAD, ZT & Pipedrive, they truly have a lot to share. We can get insight into cross-cluster monitoring with modern tech stack and lessons learned operating messaging systems built on Kafka.
A short intro to the talks:

– Cross-cluster monitoring at Sixfold
"A look at our monitoring and visibility stack of Kubernetes+Prometheus+Alertmanager+Thanos+Grafana+Opsgenie – how we started, lessons learned, where we are evolving to."
Presenter Erki Esken is working at Sixfold on internal tooling helping improve developer workflows.
– Joys and woes of running Kafka at Sixfold
"How not to shoot yourself in the foot with default configs, the need for custom tooling and gaining insight into operating Kafka."
Presenter Tõnis Pool is leading Sixfold‘s Core Services team, currently helping create our next-generation messaging architecture.
