What we’re about
Welcome to the Tallinn Outdoor Activities Meetup group!
If you are nature enthusiast who wants to stay active, join us hiking, cycling, swimming or cold plunging in the sea! We will explore new places, but also meet regularly at some good locations. Socializing with like-minded individuals while experiencing the beauty of Tallinn surroundings is a good idea, isn't it?
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Around Viimsi peninsula by bicycleKadrioru kunstimuuseum, Tallinn
I am inviting you for a nice bike trip, the route is planned around Viimsi peninsula, we will visit several interesting places, both nature's and cultural wonders.
Let's meet at Kadriorg Art Museum at 9 AM.
The route is 49.3 km long, with mild elevation of 310 m.
It should not take more than 3.5 hours of cycling, but I'm including some extra time for breaks and a slower speed.🔗 Full route
In case the weather forecast changes to worse, the trip will be cancelled. Come here to check the latest update the evening before.
Don't forget some food, enough water, a helmet and your bike. 🙂
See you!
- Autumn Sea SwimmingLinnahalli Rand, Tallinn
Autumn is here, and that means it's the time for everyone starting with cold plunges and eventually become strong polar bear (if you're not one already). 🙂 The sea water temperature is currently around 12 °C, and later it can drop to 1 °C, so we can gradually prepare our bodies for winter conditions (freezing air, snow, low water temperature).
- Meeting at 18:00 on Linnahall Beach (Linnahalli Rand). Accurate location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6iX6VhEVdPYxSAQV7
Don’t forget a towel and something to hydrate with after swimming (alcohol is not recommended). Swimwear (or spare underwear) is useful too, unless you prefer to swim naked. 😶
In case you do not want to swim, come anyway! You can just sit by the sea, relax and socialize. Maybe we will have a little walk around the coast, and also, there are pubs and cafes around, so you won't get bored.
See you soon!
- 🧊 About cold plunges:
Entering cold water activates your body’s natural stress response, improving circulation, boosting immune function, and reducing inflammation through enhanced blood flow and increased leukocyte production. It triggers a powerful release of endorphins and norepinephrine, delivering an immediate mood lift while building long-term mental resilience. Regular practice trains your nervous system to handle stress more effectively, making it a natural reset button for both body and mind. - 🔗 Read more
