Hello database friends! Time to "save" the year again for our little group :)

The search for presenters was finally fruitful and now the next Postgres meetup can take place on December 3rd 18:30 in Tallinn.

Our host this time is Dynatrace, an observability platform provider (also for PostgreSQL among other things), so big thanks to them for making the meetup possible!

Presentations:

  • "Why Developers Using AI Is Great for DBA Job Security?" by Mayuresh Bagayatkar from Veeam. The talk highlights some AI hallucinations and misfires from real life in PostgreSQL context.
  • "Introduction to dbt" by Alexander Matrunich, a Data Analyst. Data build tool (dbt) is an open-source command line tool that helps analysts and engineers transform data in their warehouse more effectively.
  • "Fixing lock contention in OLTP" by Ants Aasma, Senior Developer & Consultant at Cybertec

Additionally:

  • As usual, ~5-minute "lightning talks" are always welcome ad-hoc, without registration. Just coordinate with any of the organizers on-site.
  • The usual opportunity to socialize and discuss databases over some drinks and snacks

Location: Dynatrace Estonia, Sõle 14
