About us
Tampa Bay Biotech is a professional community focused on Machine Learning and Agentic AI for Biotechnology, Healthcare, and Life Sciences. We bring together scientists, engineers, clinicians, data scientists, instructors, and students who are building Machine Learning systems, autonomous AI agents, Agentic RAG assistants, and AI-driven systems for bioinformatics, clinical data, multi-omics, and healthcare analytics.
We connect professionals across bioinformatics, computational biology, healthcare analytics, life sciences, and advanced Agentic AI to share real-world projects, system architectures, research insights, and production-ready tools. Topics include agent-based reasoning, multi-tool AI orchestration, vector databases, text-to-SQL, clinical data retrieval, and responsible AI agents in regulated environments.
Whether you come from industry, academia, healthcare systems, or startups, this community, led by Dr. Bonat (Dr.B), provides a technically rigorous yet welcoming space to learn, collaborate, network, and grow within the rapidly evolving agentic AI–powered biotech and health-AI ecosystem.

Building Agentic AI Assistants: A Tutorial for Everyone
Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, 2101 East Palm Avenue, Tampa, FL, USSpeakers
Ernest Bonat, Ph.D. (Dr.B)
Senior GenAI Engineer
Specialist in the design and development of Machine Learning systems and Agentic Artificial Intelligence assistants for Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Healthcare.Join Tampa Bay Biotech for a practical and engaging introduction to Agentic AI — the new generation of AI assistants that can reason, plan, use tools, and complete multi-step tasks. This session will explain how agent-based AI differs from traditional AI and standard prompt-response systems, then walk through the core architecture behind intelligent assistants, including LLMs, memory, tools, planning, execution, and orchestration.
- What Is Agentic AI?
Understand how agent-based AI differs from traditional AI and standard prompt-response assistants. - Core Components & Architecture
Explore the LLM brain, memory, tools, planning, execution, and orchestration layers that power intelligent assistants. - Frameworks & Tools (2024–2025)
Review the leading platforms and development tools used to build agentic AI systems today. - Agent Skills – latest technologies of developing Agentic AI Assistants today!
Learn what agent skills are, how they work, and how to improve their performance. - LangGraph Architecture + Live Code
Learn how a real agentic workflow is structured and watch a Python-based tool-calling assistant in action. - Bioinformatics Agent Demo
Discover how agentic AI can be applied to healthcare, life sciences, and computational biology.
This meetup is intended to be practical, beginner-friendly, and technically inspiring. Whether you are just starting with AI assistants or already building intelligent workflows, you will leave with a much clearer understanding of how agentic AI works and how it can be applied in healthcare, life sciences, and bioinformatics.
