Intro To Crypto Economics
Details
Ever wonder what it takes to build a protocol from scratch? What are the factors that protocol builders take into consideration? What are the tools and technologies used?
Please join Tracie Myers on November 30th for a sneak peek of the crypto economics course that will be offered in January through BlockSpaces.
Some of the core concepts that will be covered are consensus mechanisms, governance on blockchains, how tokens can be used on different blockchains, and the basic concepts of cryptography and economics; how they work together to incentivize good behavior. This class is good for anyone interested in a better understanding of the economics and incentivization on the blockchain.
Specific topics covered will include:
What is Cryptography
What is Economics
Decentralized v Centralized
Game theory
Double spend problem
Byzantine generals problem
Store of value vs medium of exchange
Consensus and mining
PoW
PoS
PoA
Governance Attacks
There will be some interactive discussions and a quiz at the end of each class. At the end of the 5 weeks, there will be a certificate given if the student has attended all of the classes and all quizzes have been passed.
This meetup will have little to no coding, as most of the topics discussed are more conceptual and high level. You do not have to be a developer, but it’ll be helpful to understand the basics of cryptography. This will be an intro, this lecture will introduce the basics of what will be taught in the 5-week class starting in January.
