The ChatGPT neural network can be enhanced and customized using plugins. For example, the Expedia plugin equips the AI with up-to-date information on lodging pricing and availability, enabling users to book their next destination directly through the ChatGPT UI.
In this session, you will gain hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) by building a Java plugin for ChatGPT from the ground up. We will start with the fundamentals, creating an application that integrates Spring AI with OpenAI APIs for a range of natural language processing (NLP) tasks. Following that, we'll significantly boost the application's responsiveness using the Postgres pgvector extension, which enables NLP searches within the database. Finally, we will package the refined version of the app as a ChatGPT Java plugin, making it accessible to the millions who use the chat platform daily.

5:30 - 6:30: Networking & food
6:30 - 7:30: Technical presentation from Denis
7:30 - 8:00: Raffle and presentation from Dexian about 'BTS of a Technical Recruiter'. This will give you insight to how they work/think. Will discuss trends & hot jobs on the market.
Everybody has to be out the door by 8:30. We should be able to leave the car in the parking lot and continue the conversation at a nearby bar if people are interested.

Denis Magda
Denis started his software engineering career at Sun Microsystems and Oracle, where he built JVM/JDK and led one of the Java development groups. After learning Java from the inside, he joined the world of distributed systems and databases, where he has remained ever since. His experience spans from the development of database engines and high-performance applications to training and education on the topic of distributed applications.
