A DAY AT THE RACES

Wednesday the gates open at 11am. Admission is free and parking is free, so you’ll have time to get settled before the first race at about 12:15.

We’ll meet at 11:30 at the Sports Gallery restaurant on the first floor for lunch or a snack and something cold to drink. You can make your first bet from the restaurant. After eating we’ll move to the covered outdoor seating to watch live racing, laugh, and cheer each other on. Nothing stuffy. Just a laid-back way to spend a Wednesday with friends.

Tampa Bay Downs is at 11225 Race Track Road in Oldsmar FL, just outside Tampa near Westchase. It’s easy to reach from I-275 or Veterans Expressway by turning onto Race Track Road.

A fun bonus: Tampa Bay Downs has been running races since 1926 and is kicking off its 100th season. A century of horses, fans, and stories has made this place more than just a racetrack, and it’s a great setting for a midweek outing.

PS- there is a $6 per person charge to eat in the Sports Gallery. Unlimited drinks (coffee, tea and soda) are then available for the day There are other food options if you prefer not to dine in the restaurant.
