Discussion Abstract: The availability of vast amounts of data has opened doors to advanced analytics in logistics and transportation. Companies are leveraging data analytics and predictive modeling techniques to optimize operations, enhance demand forecasting, and improve inventory management. Real-time data streams, combined with artificial intelligence, are empowering businesses to make data-driven decisions and enhance overall efficiency.
2nd Speaker - Abrom Douglas of AWS
The intersection of passwordless and zero trust
Bio: Abrom Douglas is a technology professional with over 18 years of experience in the software engineering and cybersecurity space based in the Tampa Bay area. Abrom is passionate about the IAM space and has dedicated the past 13 years delivering identity solutions that have provided secure and business enabling outcomes to organizations across the financial services, consumer cyclical, professional services, and technology industries. Some of Abrom’s experiences include leading diverse & global teams, managing multi-million dollar budgets, and having critical individual contributor roles as a security analyst, solutions architect, and security engineer.
Discussion Abstract: According to current studies, over 80% of data breaches involve stolen or weak passwords. In this talk we’ll dive a little deeper into the various identity related components of a zero trust architecture. We’ll also discuss the latest buzzwords such as FIDO2, WebAuthn, and Passkeys, and how these can help you achieve higher levels of authentication assurance to protect critical workloads, data, and infrastructure.
3rd Speaker - Andrew Jones, Salt
Exploring the OWASP API Top 10 Attack Categories
Bio: Andrew has spent the last 12 years working as a solutions engineer at successful cybersecurity startups. He currently lives in Northern Virginia, close to Washington, D.C., but originally hails from Texas. After graduating with a EE degree from UT Austin, he moved to the East Coast to work as a network engineer for a large defense contractor, but quickly fell into a security operations role, cutting his teeth building Snort IDS sensors. Since then, he's touched a wide range of security specialties in his career, including network and host-based forensics, vulnerability scanning and pentesting, malware analysis, incident response, and bot defense. Andrew enjoys attending security conferences in his off time, sipping on tasty bourbon, and voraciously consuming good books.
Discussion Abstract: The OWASP API Top 10 attack categories have recently been updated for 2023. This talk will focus on discussing some of those changes, examining the API threat landscape in general, and demonstrating some API attacks against a vulnerable web application.
