This month, Ivan will be stepping up to the podium to tell us about some of the mathematical aspects of programming with examples ranging from list comprehensions to some specific data structures.

Ever wondered how mathematics, particularly linear algebra, plays an integral role in programming?

In this brief talk, I will discuss and break down why Python is such an important and effective programming language for mathematics and what to keep in mind when developing a math-intensive programming such as:

1) What is a comprehension and how to make rules for displaying numbers visually

2) Why functions work and why they're important

3) How is the information on a picture structured and how can you manipulate it

4) How to do all of the above with ease with only a few lines of code
